New Years Virtual Run
About the organization.
The PPE Relief Initiative (PRI) was a volunteer organization that raised funds for PPE and donated them to healthcare workers in the New York Metropolitan Area.
During the winter of 2020, PPE supplies were dire.
As COVID-19 cases spiked and PPE shortages grew rampant, PRI launched a weekend-long virtual run campaign on Facebook Fundraiser and GoFundMe. Participating sponsors would pledge money (per mile) for their selected runner and the runner would record their mileage by the end of the weekend.
As the Lead Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant, I designed key print and digital marketing materials:
- Promotional print flyer
- Participation certificates to runners and sponsors
- Facebook Fundraiser, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter banners and posts
Inspiring hope to healthcare workers and their loved ones.
The campaign began with designing Facebook Fundraiser, Strava, and Google Forms Sign Up Banners. The Chief Branding Officer, Co-Founder, and I brainstormed on a visual theme that would promote positive activism within local communities.
My biggest challenge was creating layout variations for each social media platform while maintaining the theme. To ensure a balance of variety and consistency, we used a single image of a runner with brush stroke arrows from Canva.
Over $5,000 raised!
Within one weekend (January 1st - 3rd), our nonprofit raised $5,112 in donations!
Some of our key accomplishments included:
- 47 participants
- 194 miles accumulated
- About 100 individual pledges from sponsors
