About the company
globaledit is a web-based digital asset management platform that helps organizations handle creative production workflows. It enables photo editors, as well as art and creative directors, to capture, review, approve, and distribute digital assets via a unified platform.
One small step towards a big change
With the website redesign project on the horizon, I was tasked with the creation of the company's new social media banners. The previous designs appeared disconnected in theme and didn't showcase any of the software's user interface or features.
A tradeoff of the old and new.
At that time, there was no company brand guideline, so I reviewed the previous Designer's past projects on Figma. The challenge was understanding which elements I could maintain consistency with and which ones I could redesign.
globaledit primarily works with high fashion brands, so I stock images with luxurious aesthetic to showcase alongside a simplified version of the software's user interface. The original button design was inspired by the previous Designer's work.
A new era, a new look.
The globaledit banners were successfully showcased on the company's LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook pages.
What I learned:
- Discovered that I learn new software best through hands-on practice and using online tutorials for tips
- Discerned how to convey more purposeful visuals in a restricted digital space
- Since this was my first project at globaledit, I like to reflect back on how far I progressed as a designer while working there
